The 6G certification is the highest level and considered the gold standard of the welding profession.
6G Certification in Detail
The 6G certification means a worker can weld 360 degrees around a pipe that doesn’t move. It is one of the most difficult weld certification tests to pass because the pipe is at a 45-degree angle and immovable. Welders taking the 6G certification test must weld in all positions including horizontal, vertical and overhead, and may have to weld both right-handed and left-handed. No other certification encompasses all these welding positions
